Spiritual Direction

What is it ?

In short, a Spiritual Director helps others pay attention to and discern how God the Father is actively shaping a person’s life through the Holy Spirit in ways that form them more deeply into the image of Christ.

Are you a Counselor, Therapist or Coach? While I may ask a lot of the same questions as a coach, counselor or therapist might it is not coaching, counseling or therapy (I'm not a licensed counselor). Instead, it's a conversation that nurtures and fosters redemption, self-awareness, maturity in faith, and transformation by helping them tell their stories with awareness and an attentiveness to the work of God through the Holy Spirit to make us more like Jesus.

Are you Certified? I am certified by Sustainable Faith and a member of the ESDA the largest spiritual director membership organization serving Christ-centered churches and communities worldwide and follow their code of ethics for Spiritual Directors.

What does it look like ?

By listening intently and asking questions I offer spiritual guidance to help others make sense of their faith journey, interpret significant markers in life, provide encouragement particularly through the more difficult transitions or valleys that we all experience in life.

Review your story, find the connecting threads of dignity, impact, and intimacy in the themes of your life, and uncover the potential lies in a story and most importantly discover the ways in which your story may reveal something unique about the character of God and his activity in your story.

Encourage a deeper desire for God that is stronger than all other passions and desires and reveals those desires to be cheap imposters.

Who is right for Spiritual Direction?
- Anyone desiring to go deeper in their faith and wanting to explore their relationship with God.
- Anyone who has reached a crisis point and needs to refocus their lives.
- Anyone that might have grown weary in their walk with Jesus and seeks renewal of faith.
- Someone who might be trying to discern some big life transitions such as work/career, marriage, kids, education, etc…
- Anyone that might be simply trying to understand their own story better in light of the Gospel.
- Spiritual Direction can also be a helpful practice for anyone who may be in counseling or therapy or who has completed meeting with a counselor and wishes to be faithful to what they’ve learned

Offerings

Individual

Where: I meet with folks for an hour in a safe, confidential space where / Video is available

How Often/Cost: Once a month, more if needed. Typically, $60.00 per session.

Who: I can meet with both adults, Men and Women

Group

Available if there is enough interest

Group size would be no more than 6-8
